STANDING ORDER

To

All Shipping Masters,

Subject: The operation of a fishing vessel by owners of a fishing vessel under the Tamil Nadu Maritime Board Act, 1995, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Maritime Board Act, 1995 (Tamil Nadu Act 4 of 1995), the Ports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a fishing vessel by owners of a fishing vessel.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a fishing vessel carrying on the operation of a fishing vessel shall make an application in Form 8 to the Conservator of the Port within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Shipping Master shall ensure that port clearance is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Conservator of the Port within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
