OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of a private market by operators of a private market under the Gujarat Town Planning and Urban Development Act, 1976, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Urban Development Department, Government of Gujarat on the manner in which the running of a private market by operators of a private market is to be regulated under the Gujarat Town Planning and Urban Development Act, 1976.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a private market carrying on the running of a private market shall make an application in Form H to the Municipal Council within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a private market is undertaken, and the Municipal Council shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Urban Development Department, Government of Gujarat.
