STANDING ORDER

To

All Station Fire Officers,

Subject: The preparedness of a hospital for emergencies by operators of a hospital under the Tamil Nadu Fire Service Act, 1985, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Fire Service Act, 1985 (Tamil Nadu Act 11 of 1985), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the preparedness of a hospital for emergencies by operators of a hospital.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a hospital carrying on the preparedness of a hospital for emergencies shall make an application in Form A to the District Authority within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Station Fire Officer shall ensure that fire safety certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Authority within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
