STANDING ORDER

To

All Provost Marshals,

Subject: The plying of a vehicle within a cantonment by owners of a vehicle within a cantonment under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986 (Uttar Pradesh Act 7 of 1986), the Home Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the plying of a vehicle within a cantonment by owners of a vehicle within a cantonment.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a vehicle within a cantonment carrying on the plying of a vehicle within a cantonment shall make an application in Form D to the Chief Executive Officer of the Cantonment within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Provost Marshal shall ensure that canteen stock is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Chief Executive Officer of the Cantonment within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
