STANDING ORDER

All Building Inspectors,

Subject: The keeping of a lodging house by owners of a lodging house under the Gujarat Town Planning and Urban Development Act, 1976, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Town Planning and Urban Development Act, 1976 (Gujarat Act 27 of 1976), the Tourism Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of a lodging house by owners of a lodging house.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a lodging house carrying on the keeping of a lodging house shall make an application in Form F to the Town Vending Committee within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand five hundred rupees.

3. The Building Inspector shall ensure that building plan is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Town Vending Committee within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Gujarat.
