STANDING ORDER

All Surveyors,

Subject: The cultivation of land as tenant by tenants under the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885 (Bihar Act 8 of 1885), the Revenue Department, Government of Bihar hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of land as tenant by tenants.

2. The matter has been examined. Every tenant carrying on the cultivation of land as tenant shall make an application in Form 3 to the Revenue Divisional Officer within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Surveyor shall ensure that parcel of land is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Revenue Divisional Officer within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Bihar.
