OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Dealing in medical devices by dealers in medical devices under the Tamil Nadu Private Clinical Establishments (Regulation) Act, 1997, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which dealing in medical devices by dealers in medical devices is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Private Clinical Establishments (Regulation) Act, 1997.

2. The matter has been examined. Every dealer in medical devices carrying on dealing in medical devices shall make an application in Form 28 to the National Medical Commission within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which dealing in medical devices is undertaken, and the National Medical Commission shall dispose of it within fourteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
