STANDING ORDER

To

All Chief Electrical Inspectors,

Subject: The generation of electricity from solar energy by owners of a solar power plant under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003 (Gujarat Act 24 of 2003), the Law Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the generation of electricity from solar energy by owners of a solar power plant.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a solar power plant carrying on the generation of electricity from solar energy shall make an application in Form VIII to the Ombudsman within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. The Chief Electrical Inspector shall ensure that cylinder is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Ombudsman within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Gujarat.
