STANDING ORDER

All Naib Tahsildars,

Subject: The holding of land assessed to revenue by holders of land under the Gujarat Agricultural Lands Ceiling Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Agricultural Lands Ceiling Act, 1961 (Gujarat Act 27 of 1961), the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land assessed to revenue by holders of land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of land carrying on the holding of land assessed to revenue shall make an application in Form 3 to the Tahsildar within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Naib Tahsildar shall ensure that mutation is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Gujarat.
