OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The working of a wharf by owners of a wharf under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Transport Department, Government of Gujarat on the manner in which the working of a wharf by owners of a wharf is to be regulated under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a wharf carrying on the working of a wharf shall make an application in Form 4 to the Inland Waterways Authority within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the working of a wharf is undertaken, and the Inland Waterways Authority shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Gujarat.
