STANDING ORDER

All commanding officers,

Subject: The holding of defence land on lease by lessees of defence land under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986 (Uttar Pradesh Act 7 of 1986), the Finance Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of defence land on lease by lessees of defence land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every lessee of defence land carrying on the holding of defence land on lease shall make an application in Form B to the Commanding Officer of the Unit within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The commanding officer shall ensure that register of contractors is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Commanding Officer of the Unit within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
