OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The possession of land by persons in possession of land under the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Water Resources Department, Government of Bihar on the manner in which the possession of land by persons in possession of land is to be regulated under the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person in possession of land carrying on the possession of land shall make an application in Form 3 to the State Government within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the possession of land is undertaken, and the State Government shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Bihar.
