OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The tapping of toddy by toddy tappers under the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Bihar on the manner in which the tapping of toddy by toddy tappers is to be regulated under the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016.

2. The matter has been examined. Every toddy tapper carrying on the tapping of toddy shall make an application in Form C to the Excise Appellate Authority within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the tapping of toddy is undertaken, and the Excise Appellate Authority shall dispose of it within fourteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Bihar.
