OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Dealing in motor vehicles by dealers under the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1974, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which dealing in motor vehicles by dealers is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1974.

2. The matter has been examined. Every dealer carrying on dealing in motor vehicles shall make an application in Form 38 to the Government of Tamil Nadu within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which dealing in motor vehicles is undertaken, and the Government of Tamil Nadu shall dispose of it within fourteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
