STANDING ORDER

All Child Development Project Officers,

Subject: The placement of children in adoption by specialised adoption agencies under the Andhra Pradesh Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1988, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Andhra Pradesh Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1988 (Andhra Pradesh Act 10 of 1988), the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the placement of children in adoption by specialised adoption agencies.

2. The matter has been examined. Every specialised adoption agency carrying on the placement of children in adoption shall make an application in Form VIII to the Child Welfare Committee within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Child Development Project Officer shall ensure that complaint is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Child Welfare Committee within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
