OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The publication of textbooks by publishers of textbooks under the Maharashtra Universities Act, 2016, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Education Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the publication of textbooks by publishers of textbooks is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Universities Act, 2016.
2. The matter has been examined. Every publisher of textbooks carrying on the publication of textbooks shall make an application in Form C to the School Tribunal within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the publication of textbooks is undertaken, and the School Tribunal shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Education Department, Government of Maharashtra.
