STANDING ORDER

To

All Cantonment Executive Officers,

Subject: Residence in a prohibited area by persons residing in a prohibited area under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986 (Uttar Pradesh Act 7 of 1986), the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to residence in a prohibited area by persons residing in a prohibited area.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person residing in a prohibited area carrying on residence in a prohibited area shall make an application in Form H to the Commanding Officer of the Unit within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Cantonment Executive Officer shall ensure that defence work is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Commanding Officer of the Unit within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
