OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The holding of Government land on lease by lessees of Government land under the Gujarat Agricultural Lands Ceiling Act, 1961, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Water Resources Department, Government of Gujarat on the manner in which the holding of Government land on lease by lessees of Government land is to be regulated under the Gujarat Agricultural Lands Ceiling Act, 1961.

2. The matter has been examined. Every lessee of Government land carrying on the holding of Government land on lease shall make an application in Form 12 to the Tahsildar within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the holding of Government land on lease is undertaken, and the Tahsildar shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Gujarat.
