OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The recycling of ships by ship recyclers under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Transport Department, Government of Gujarat on the manner in which the recycling of ships by ship recyclers is to be regulated under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981.

2. The matter has been examined. Every ship recycler carrying on the recycling of ships shall make an application in Form 2 to the Director-General within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the recycling of ships is undertaken, and the Director-General shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Gujarat.
