STANDING ORDER

To

All Circle Officers,

Subject: The possession of land by persons in possession of land under the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953 (Punjab Act 10 of 1953), the General Administration Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the possession of land by persons in possession of land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person in possession of land carrying on the possession of land shall make an application in Form 12 to the Sub-Divisional Officer within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. The Circle Officer shall ensure that holding is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Sub-Divisional Officer within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Punjab.
