STANDING ORDER

All Irrigation Inspectors,

Subject: The maintenance of a dam by owners of a dam under the Rajasthan Irrigation and Drainage Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Rajasthan Irrigation and Drainage Act, 1954 (Rajasthan Act 21 of 1954), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Rajasthan hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the maintenance of a dam by owners of a dam.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a dam carrying on the maintenance of a dam shall make an application in Form A to the Ground Water Authority within seven days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Irrigation Inspector shall ensure that register of users is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Ground Water Authority within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Rajasthan.
