OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The management of a waqf by mutawallis under the Maharashtra Regulation of Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages Act, 1998, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Law Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the management of a waqf by mutawallis is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Regulation of Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages Act, 1998.
2. The matter has been examined. Every mutawalli carrying on the management of a waqf shall make an application in Form II to the Government of Maharashtra within seven days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the management of a waqf is undertaken, and the Government of Maharashtra shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Maharashtra.
