OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The retail vend of liquor by retail vendors under the Punjab Excise Act, 1914, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Punjab on the manner in which the retail vend of liquor by retail vendors is to be regulated under the Punjab Excise Act, 1914.

2. The matter has been examined. Every retail vendor carrying on the retail vend of liquor shall make an application in Form G to the Deputy Commissioner of Excise within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the retail vend of liquor is undertaken, and the Deputy Commissioner of Excise shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Punjab.
