STANDING ORDER

To

All Assistants Registrar of Societies,

Subject: The keeping of a dharamshala by keepers of a dharamshala under the Andhra Pradesh Charitable and Hindu Religious Institutions and Endowments Act, 1987, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Andhra Pradesh Charitable and Hindu Religious Institutions and Endowments Act, 1987 (Andhra Pradesh Act 30 of 1987), the Social Welfare Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of a dharamshala by keepers of a dharamshala.

2. The matter has been examined. Every keeper of a dharamshala carrying on the keeping of a dharamshala shall make an application in Form D to the Charity Commissioner within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Assistant Registrar of Societies shall ensure that trust is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Charity Commissioner within one hundred and eighty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
