OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The leasing of a village tank by lessees of a village tank under the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Law Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh on the manner in which the leasing of a village tank by lessees of a village tank is to be regulated under the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1994.

2. The matter has been examined. Every lessee of a village tank carrying on the leasing of a village tank shall make an application in Form 6 to the Director of Panchayats within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the leasing of a village tank is undertaken, and the Director of Panchayats shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
