STANDING ORDER

To

All Sanitary Inspectors,

Subject: Street vending by street vendors under the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, 1888, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, 1888 (Maharashtra Act 3 of 1888), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to street vending by street vendors.

2. The matter has been examined. Every street vendor carrying on street vending shall make an application in Form A to the Standing Committee within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand five hundred rupees.

3. The Sanitary Inspector shall ensure that trade licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Standing Committee within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra.
