OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers under the Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act, 1983, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Revenue Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act, 1983.

2. The matter has been examined. Every sharecropper carrying on the cultivation of land as a sharecropper shall make an application in Form 8 to the Tahsildar within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the cultivation of land as a sharecropper is undertaken, and the Tahsildar shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
