OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The working of a distillery by distillers under the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Transport Department, Government of West Bengal on the manner in which the working of a distillery by distillers is to be regulated under the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909.

2. The matter has been examined. Every distiller carrying on the working of a distillery shall make an application in Form F to the District Excise Officer within ten days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the working of a distillery is undertaken, and the District Excise Officer shall dispose of it within ten days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of West Bengal.
