STANDING ORDER
To
All Surveyors,
Subject: The holding of allotted surplus land by allottees of surplus land under the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955 (West Bengal Act 10 of 1955), the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of allotted surplus land by allottees of surplus land.
2. The matter has been examined. Every allottee of surplus land carrying on the holding of allotted surplus land shall make an application in Form 7 to the Board of Revenue within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.
3. The Surveyor shall ensure that holding is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Board of Revenue within one hundred and eighty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of West Bengal.
