OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The sale of liquor for consumption on the premises by bar licensees under the Goa Excise Duty Act, 1964, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Goa on the manner in which the sale of liquor for consumption on the premises by bar licensees is to be regulated under the Goa Excise Duty Act, 1964.

2. The matter has been examined. Every bar licensee carrying on the sale of liquor for consumption on the premises shall make an application in Form E to the Deputy Commissioner of Excise within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the sale of liquor for consumption on the premises is undertaken, and the Deputy Commissioner of Excise shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Goa.
