STANDING ORDER

To

All Tourist Officers,

Subject: The guiding of tourists by tourist guides under the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005 (Kerala Act 8 of 2005), the Finance Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the guiding of tourists by tourist guides.

2. The matter has been examined. Every tourist guide carrying on the guiding of tourists shall make an application in Form VII to the Competent Authority within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Tourist Officer shall ensure that guest register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Competent Authority within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Kerala.
