OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The sponsoring of contract farming by contract farming sponsors under the Punjab Agricultural Produce Markets Act, 1961, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Punjab on the manner in which the sponsoring of contract farming by contract farming sponsors is to be regulated under the Punjab Agricultural Produce Markets Act, 1961.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contract farming sponsor carrying on the sponsoring of contract farming shall make an application in Form A to the Registrar of Co-operative Societies within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the sponsoring of contract farming is undertaken, and the Registrar of Co-operative Societies shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Punjab.
