OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The operation of a multi-system cable network by multi-system operators under the Maharashtra Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1953, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the operation of a multi-system cable network by multi-system operators is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1953.

2. The matter has been examined. Every multi-system operator carrying on the operation of a multi-system cable network shall make an application in Form VIII to the Press Registrar within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the operation of a multi-system cable network is undertaken, and the Press Registrar shall dispose of it within twenty-one days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Maharashtra.
