OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of a gymnasium by operators of a gymnasium under the Bombay Prevention of Gambling Act, 1887, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the running of a gymnasium by operators of a gymnasium is to be regulated under the Bombay Prevention of Gambling Act, 1887.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a gymnasium carrying on the running of a gymnasium shall make an application in Form G to the Sports Authority within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a gymnasium is undertaken, and the Sports Authority shall dispose of it within fourteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Maharashtra.
