OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of a fair price shop by fair price shop dealers under the Maharashtra Animal Preservation Act, 1977, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the running of a fair price shop by fair price shop dealers is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Animal Preservation Act, 1977.

2. The matter has been examined. Every fair price shop dealer carrying on the running of a fair price shop shall make an application in Form D to the Commissioner of Food Safety within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of three thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a fair price shop is undertaken, and the Commissioner of Food Safety shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Maharashtra.
