STANDING ORDER

To

All Taxing Officers,

Subject: The writing of petitions for reward by petition writers under the Uttar Pradesh Civil Laws (Reforms and Amendment) Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Civil Laws (Reforms and Amendment) Act, 1954 (Uttar Pradesh Act 24 of 1954), the Law Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the writing of petitions for reward by petition writers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every petition writer carrying on the writing of petitions for reward shall make an application in Form D to the Legal Services Authority within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Taxing Officer shall ensure that summons is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Legal Services Authority within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
