OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Photography at a protected monument by holders of a photography permit under the Tamil Nadu Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1966, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Tourism Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which photography at a protected monument by holders of a photography permit is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1966.

2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of a photography permit carrying on photography at a protected monument shall make an application in Form V to the Competent Authority within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which photography at a protected monument is undertaken, and the Competent Authority shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
