OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The carriage of goods for hire by owners of a goods carriage under the Karnataka Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1957, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Transport Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the carriage of goods for hire by owners of a goods carriage is to be regulated under the Karnataka Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1957.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a goods carriage carrying on the carriage of goods for hire shall make an application in Form 30 to the Transport Commissioner within seven days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the carriage of goods for hire is undertaken, and the Transport Commissioner shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Karnataka.
