STANDING ORDER
To
All Naib Tahsildars,
Subject: The possession of land by persons in possession of land under the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954 (West Bengal Act 1 of 1954), the General Administration Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the possession of land by persons in possession of land.
2. The matter has been examined. Every person in possession of land carrying on the possession of land shall make an application in Form 8 to the Board of Revenue within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.
3. The Naib Tahsildar shall ensure that parcel of land is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Board of Revenue within ninety days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of West Bengal.
