CIRCULAR
To
All telegraph authorities,
Subject: The erection of telecommunication towers by owners of a telecommunication tower under the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act, 1997, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act, 1997 (24 of 1997), the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India hereby issues the following
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the erection of telecommunication towers by owners of a telecommunication tower.
2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a telecommunication tower carrying on the erection of telecommunication towers shall make an application in Form D to the Universal Service Obligation Fund within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the erection of telecommunication towers is undertaken, and the Universal Service Obligation Fund shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this circular may be brought to the notice of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
