STANDING ORDER

To

All Patwaris,

Subject: The holding of land assessed to revenue by holders of land under the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955 (West Bengal Act 10 of 1955), the Mines and Geology Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land assessed to revenue by holders of land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of land carrying on the holding of land assessed to revenue shall make an application in Form 12 to the Settlement Officer within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Patwari shall ensure that survey number is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Settlement Officer within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Mines and Geology Department, Government of West Bengal.
