OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The keeping of a shop in a village market by shopkeepers in a village market under the Karnataka Gram Swaraj and Panchayat Raj Act, 1993, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Finance Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the keeping of a shop in a village market by shopkeepers in a village market is to be regulated under the Karnataka Gram Swaraj and Panchayat Raj Act, 1993.
2. The matter has been examined. Every shopkeeper in a village market carrying on the keeping of a shop in a village market shall make an application in Form 6 to the Zila Parishad within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the keeping of a shop in a village market is undertaken, and the Zila Parishad shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Karnataka.
