OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land under the Kerala Land Assignment Act, 1960, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Revenue Department, Government of Kerala on the manner in which the sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land is to be regulated under the Kerala Land Assignment Act, 1960.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a well on Government land carrying on the sinking of a well on Government land shall make an application in Form 8 to the Revenue Divisional Officer within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the sinking of a well on Government land is undertaken, and the Revenue Divisional Officer shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Kerala.
