STANDING ORDER

All Survey Commissioners,

Subject: The occupation of waqf property by tenants of waqf property under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960 (Karnataka Act 17 of 1960), the Revenue Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the occupation of waqf property by tenants of waqf property.

2. The matter has been examined. Every tenant of waqf property carrying on the occupation of waqf property shall make an application in Form G to the Commissioner of Endowments within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Survey Commissioner shall ensure that trust is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Commissioner of Endowments within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Karnataka.
