STANDING ORDER

All Tourist Officers,

Subject: The operation of a houseboat by operators of a houseboat under the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005 (Kerala Act 8 of 2005), the Finance Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a houseboat by operators of a houseboat.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a houseboat carrying on the operation of a houseboat shall make an application in Form IV to the Government of Kerala within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Tourist Officer shall ensure that site is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Kerala within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Kerala.
