STANDING ORDER

To

All Site Managers,

Subject: The operation of a houseboat by operators of a houseboat under the Tamil Nadu Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1966, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1966 (Tamil Nadu Act 25 of 1966), the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a houseboat by operators of a houseboat.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a houseboat carrying on the operation of a houseboat shall make an application in Form IV to the Heritage Committee within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Site Manager shall ensure that antiquity is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Heritage Committee within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
