STANDING ORDER

To

All Circles Inspector of Excise,

Subject: The import of liquor into the State by importers of liquor under the Uttar Pradesh Excise Act, 1910, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Excise Act, 1910 (Uttar Pradesh Act 4 of 1910), the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the import of liquor into the State by importers of liquor.

2. The matter has been examined. Every importer of liquor carrying on the import of liquor into the State shall make an application in Form E to the Excise Commissioner within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Circle Inspector of Excise shall ensure that licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Excise Commissioner within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
