To
All Energy Auditors,
Subject: The supply of electricity by licensees under the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board Act, 2006, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board Act, 2006 (19 of 2006), the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board hereby issues the following
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the supply of electricity by licensees.
2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee carrying on the supply of electricity shall make an application in Form VI to the Ombudsman within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the supply of electricity is undertaken, and the Ombudsman shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this circular may be brought to the notice of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board.
