OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Employment in a covered establishment by insured persons under the Tamil Nadu Manual Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Work) Act, 1982, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Finance Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which employment in a covered establishment by insured persons is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Manual Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Work) Act, 1982.

2. The matter has been examined. Every insured person carrying on employment in a covered establishment shall make an application in Form 3 to the Commissioner within ten days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which employment in a covered establishment is undertaken, and the Commissioner shall dispose of it within ten days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
