STANDING ORDER
To
All Rent Controllers,
Subject: The provision of paying guest accommodation by paying guest accommodation providers under the Tamil Nadu Housing Board Act, 1961, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Housing Board Act, 1961 (Tamil Nadu Act 17 of 1961), the Energy Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the provision of paying guest accommodation by paying guest accommodation providers.
2. The matter has been examined. Every paying guest accommodation provider carrying on the provision of paying guest accommodation shall make an application in Form E to the Rent Authority within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.
3. The Rent Controller shall ensure that common area is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Rent Authority within one hundred and eighty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Energy Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
